Class Party Volunteers

We are excited to have 3 different classroom celebrations throughout the year:

  • Halloween Party/Parade (Oct 31st)
  • Winter Party (Kindergarten, Dec 21st & 1st -5th, Dec 22nd)
  • Valentine’s Day Party (Feb 14th)

Sign ups to volunteer for classroom parties are on a first come, first serve basis and will open on Monday, Sept 18, 2017 @ 6:00 am.  We ask parents to be considerate of other parents who may want to volunteer and only choose one party per classroom upon sign ups initially being open, in hopes of giving everyone who wishes to volunteer a chance.  After October 15th, you are welcome to return and choose a 2nd party if you wish and space if available.

You may use the link below to sign up once they open.  For grades 3 – 5:  Class parties occur in the students PM class

Each class is limited to 3 parent volunteers and all volunteers must be registered and cleared with Raptor in order to volunteer (See below for more info on Raptor).

About 2-3 weeks before the party, you will receive an email with the names and contact information for the other volunteers for your classroom at which point volunteers can reach out to the other parents who are helping in your classroom to coordinate both games and crafts.

FOOD/SNACKS:  As a reminder, due to district policy, there is to be ABSOLUTELY NO FOOD served, used for games, or sent home with students.  No spaghetti for brains or grapes for eyeballs, snowmen out of marshmallows or candy hearts and if you plan to send home goody bags with the kids, please make sure there are no food items included.  Please help ensure the students can continue to have class parties by adhering to policy.  If you have questions or want to make sure something is either included or excluded, please feel free to shoot Kelly Hane (PTA Volunteer Coordinator) an email.

Each party will last for about 1 hour, however we ask parents to arrive early to set up, etc.  Specific check in times, etc are communicated directly to volunteers prior to the party.

RAPTOR:  If you are new to Churchill or have not volunteered in the building during the day in the last year, please be sure to stop by during school hours and have your drivers license scanned to avoid a delay the day of the party.  Every volunteer who enters the building must be cleared through Raptor and receive a name badge.  If you have questions about Raptor and what it is, please direct those to the front office.
