Chess Club

Churchill PTA is pleased to invite students in grades K-5 to join the Chess Club to learn and play the exciting game of chess.  Chess is an excellent way for a child to develop critical-thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills.  It helps improve memory, attention, and creativity…and it’s fun!

Chess club is open to all and will consist of interactive lessons and supervised open play.  Instruction and coaching will be provided by Jim Egerton of Chess Now, Glen Ellyn.

No previous experience necessary!  Those who are new to the game or who would like a refresher should attend the “Introduction to Chess” class on Monday, January 7th at 6:30 – 7:30 pm.  Parents are welcome to attend the Introduction class as well – come learn so you can play chess with your child!
